BHI’s network infrastructure assets that operate within its two Data Centres and across the five campuses are end-of-life, with most assets now well over 10 years old and in urgent need of replacement. BHI’s inability to apply security updates to address security vulnerabilities is also a major driver.
This sourcing activity was undertaken with the intention of establishing a contract with an external Network Infrastructure Design specialist who is capable of developing a detailed network design and Bill of Materials (BoM) that can be subsequently used to source the required network infrastructure assets and the services to implement and maintain them. The scope of the network design includes BHI operated data centres, all wired and wireless network infrastructure across all campuses, and spans the following core technology categories:
• Routers
• Switches
• Wireless Access points (WAPs)
• Wireless LAN Controllers
• Network Security Software
• Firewalls
• VPNs
• VOIP Services (including Contact Centre Voice services)
